Welcome
to
our congregation! We seek to grow spiritually through worship and service
that demonstrates the love of Christ.
We want to get
acquainted with you and have you know us better. Come along as we seek to
grow and strengthen our relationship with Jesus Christ together.....WE WELCOME
YOU!!
The United Methodist
Church centers
its teaching in the grace of God as it is known in Jesus Christ. Our
denomination is diverse and inclusive. A balance is sought between
intellectual pursuit and spiritual fervor as faith is found through scripture,
reason, tradition, and experience. We are evangelical in Christ, involved
in social expressions of the faith, connectional in organization and mission,
ecumenical. We value education and stewardship, with large commitments
made beyond the local community.
Who We Are
Frankenmuth
United Methodist Church was
founded
in
1962 with sixty-eight
charter members. The fellowship hall (the first portion of the building)
was completed in 1965 with classrooms added in 1974 and the sanctuary completed
in 1979. We recently expanded our facilities to better serve our
congregation and our community. Additional class rooms, music rooms,
office space and a nursery were added along with a state-of-the-art kitchen. We
offer a variety of worship and music styles, Bible studies, prayer, fellowship
groups and service. We have a strong commitment to children, youth,
mission and education for all ages. We participate in Habitat for Humanity
and we are a Stephen Ministry congregation.
A Covenant Church
Blessed
Trinity Catholic Church shared the use of our building from 1968 until its own
church was completed in 1976. Our congregation entered a covenantal
relationship with them in 1987, which continues today. We are committed to
pray for one another and to know and support each other as disciples of
Christ. During Lent we share in weekly worship and fellowship and during
the summer we enjoy coming together for a week of Vacation Bible School.
Our
Pastor Rev. David A.
Eardley was appointed our pastor in the summer of 2006. He came to our
church from Christ United Methodist Church in Bay City, MI where he had served
as pastor since 2001. Prior to his appointment in Bay City, he served on
the staff of First United Methodist Church in Ann Arbor, where he was on of
three pastors for a congregation of 1,300 members from 1997-2001. Pastor
David's first appointment was Grace United Methodist Church in Britton, MI where
he was the sole pastor for a small congregation from 1993-1997.
Pastor
David has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of
Michigan. In 1993 he received his Master in Divinity degree from
Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary in Evanston, Illinois. He is an
ordained Elder in the Detroit Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.
Pastor David and his wife Sara have a son, Ryan.
